Where the text comes from
Three sources, from the most accurate to the most general. We show which one worked above the text.
Creator captions
If the creator uploaded captions, we use them. They have no recognition errors, which makes them more accurate than any machine.
Platform captions
YouTube auto-transcribes most videos. We take the original track in the video’s own language, not a machine translation.
Speech recognition
No captions (TikTok, Reels)? We transcribe the audio ourselves. Without logging in, videos up to 5 minutes work; longer ones are available in Kutto.

Paste the video link into the field above and click “Get text.” If the video has captions, either from the creator or automatic, the text arrives in a couple of seconds with timestamps. Without signing up we show the first lines; the full text with SRT export is in Kutto after you log in.
Can I transcribe TikTok and Reels?
Yes. TikTok and Reels usually have no captions, so we download the audio and recognize the speech. Without logging in, videos up to 5 minutes work, which covers almost any TikTok or Reel.
Is it free?
Yes, 5 requests per hour from one address with no sign-up. After that, log in to Kutto for transcripts with no hourly limit, in full and saved to your history.
Why is only part of the text shown?
Without logging in we show the first 30 lines, enough to see that the transcript is accurate. The full text, word-level timestamps, and SRT and VTT export are in Kutto, where you can also turn a transcript into captions and clips.
Which videos can’t be transcribed?
Private videos, subscriber-only videos, and age-restricted (18+) videos. We only take what opens without logging in to an account. We don’t take live streams either; you need a link to the recording.
